Hind- Farm servant especially in Scotland and Northern England, married and skilled farm-workman, formerly having charge of two horses and provided with cottage on the farm. Hinds had to provide female workers as labouring staff for the farms and so they had a group of women known as bondagers, this obligation became obsolete by the 1860's.
