Marriage 1710     4a
Event Note

There is no direct evidence of this marriage, it was supposedly in secret, maybe due to him being a prominent protestant and her being catholic. It was also important for the Earl of Eglington's counter claim to the title in 1826 that the marriage was not proved, the original claim by George Seton did not look to prove the marriage as it was assumed that was unimportant, which left the Eglington lawyers free reign to examine documents.
